A large portion of our population lives with gallstones. Many of us do not even notice them. Up to 1 in 10 users of Wegovy develop gallstones, while for Mounjaro users it can be up to 1 in 100. Additionally, up to 1 in 100 users may experience inflammation of the gallbladder (cholecystitis).
If you experience abdominal pain, especially on the right side under the ribs, you should see a doctor. If you have severe pain, vomiting, blood in your urine, or high fever, please call emergency services at 112 or go to the emergency room.
To avoid rapid weight loss, continue to eat small meals spread throughout the day and make sure to drink enough fluids.
