If you received your previous weight loss injection from another provider and would like to order through MedExpress now, we ask that you provide proof of the previous prescription. Without this proof, typically only the starting dose of 2.5 mg can be prescribed to ensure your safety.
Time since last injection | What dose should I order?*
Less than 4 weeks: The same dose as the previous one or the next higher dose.
Example: If less than 4 weeks have passed since your last Mounjaro® injection and your previous dose was 5 mg, you have two options:
Continue with the same 5 mg dose: If you had positive results and minimal side effects with the 5 mg Mounjaro® during your last treatment, it may make sense to maintain the same dose.
Increase to the next available dose: If you tolerated the 5 mg dose well and want to lose more weight, you may consider increasing to the next available dose of 7.5 mg.
Between 4 and 8 weeks: The same dose as the previous
Example: If between 4 and 8 weeks have passed since your last 5 mg dose of Mounjaro®, we recommend staying with the same 5 mg dose.
Between 8 and 20 weeks: A dose lower than the previous dose.
Example: If between 8 and 20 weeks have passed since your last 5 mg dose of Mounjaro®, we recommend reducing the dose to 2.5 mg.
More than 20 weeks:
If more than 20 weeks have passed since your last dose, you will need to restart with the lowest dose.
*Please note that our recommendations are based on the assumption that your last dose was well tolerated. If this was not the case, we advise maintaining or reducing your last dose.
