Wegovy and Mounjaro are approved for adults with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² or higher, which is considered "obesity." They can also be used in individuals with a BMI between 27 and 30 kg/m² (considered overweight) if there are concurrent health issues such as prediabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholesterol levels, or heart problems.
If you have already undergone treatment with another provider and can provide proof of the treatment's success, we may, in some cases, approve treatment at a lower BMI. This decision is made on an individual basis.
The treatment with a weight loss injection continues until you have reached a healthy weight corresponding to a BMI of 25.
