Why do I need to submit proof of previous weight loss treatment?

If your most recent GLP-1 weight loss treatment was prescribed by another provider, MedExpress will ask you to provide evidence of that previous treatment.

The evidence helps MedExpress confirm which GLP-1 medication you were most recently taking and what dose you were prescribed, so an appropriate continuation of treatment can be assessed.

Why MedExpress needs proof of previous treatment

If you have already been using a GLP-1 weight loss medication from another provider, MedExpress needs to confirm:

  • Which GLP-1 medication you were taking

  • Which dose you were most recently taking

  • That the treatment was recent

Prescribing a higher dose than you have recently tolerated can increase the risk of undesirable side effects.

MedExpress therefore needs recent evidence of your previous dose before assessing whether your treatment can continue at that dose.

What MedExpress accepts as proof

You can upload one of the following:

  • The dispensing label on your medication packaging

  • A copy of a recent prescription

  • A dispatch or shipment confirmation email

An order confirmation email cannot be accepted.

The email must confirm that the medication was dispatched or shipped. An order confirmation only shows that an order was placed and does not confirm that the order was actually fulfilled and sent.

What your proof must clearly show

Whichever document you submit, it must clearly show:

  • Your full name

  • The medication name and dose

  • A clearly visible date

  • It needs to be dated within the last 16 weeks

If any of this information is missing or cannot be read clearly, the evidence may not be suitable for confirming your previous treatment.

What if I do not have any of these documents?

If you cannot provide suitable evidence of your previous GLP-1 treatment, MedExpress may still be able to prescribe the starting dose. Get in touch with our customer care team for further assistance.

If you still need help after reviewing the information above, additional assistance is available
